Photo courtesy The Gloucestershire EchoNow that we are approaching our Easter Cirencester Toy and Train Fair (Sunday 5 April) we are happy to announce a new valuation service.

To be known as the Valuation Roadshow, this service is offered free of charge to all visitors (and dealers) to the Fair. If you have a toy — of whatever age, old or quite new — which you think may have some value in the collecting world, then bring it along and find out the truth!

Our own panel of experts will be on hand to examine your treasures and cast their experienced eye over the items you bring. On top of that, with 30 plus regular dealers now taking tables at each and every fair, there is a wealth of additional knowledge on hand if our team is stumped by something of exceptional rarity. Plus, of course, there is always the option to sell your item as well, and cash in on an unexpected windfall.

If you think this may be of interest to you, then all you need to do is seek out Tim or Ronnie, one of the Fair’s organisers, and they will be happy to point you in the right direction..

There have been some new dealers at our recent fairs offering the likes of autographs, Star Wars memorabilia and sci-fi related toys, all of which seems to be increasing in popularity year on year. Those interested in the old favourites fear not though, as the fair will always stick to its roots, with good quality nostalgic toys and collectables.

There will be no entrance fee for children under 16, and it’s great to see families at the fair. Let’s face it, the young of today are the collectors of the future, and they’re the real experts too when it comes to deciding on what makes a ‘good toy’. I dare you to get the name wrong of any Star Wars or Lego figure, as they’re sure to put you in your place!

The food on offer from our catering team has earned an excellent reputation for tasty quality, with the addition this time of home-baked cakes, so make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to look around the fair, relax, and make this a day out to enjoy.

Hope to see you all in April.
