Photo courtesy The Gloucestershire EchoWe at Cirencester Toy & Train Fair are extremely happy to announce the news that, thanks to the continued support of our friends, dealers and everyone that has attended our previous fairs, we will be launching a new sister fair later this year.

The new fair is to be called The Didcot & Oxfordshire Toy Fair. This fair will be a similar size and nature to that of Cirencester, with the pick of some of the top southern dealers as well as a few new friends from Oxfordshire, Buckingham and Aylesbury.
As always, we will strive to encourage the sort of professional trader that will carry good stock at fair prices and, above all, come to the fair with a mind to enjoy themselves and share their experience with the visiting public.

The venue is the Didcot Civic Hall (OX11 7JN) and the date for the first event is set for Saturday 25th July. There is plenty of free parking at the Hall, the only real difference from the Cirencester fair is that Didcot will take place on a Saturday. We were asked for this change of day to make it easier for those who prefer to use public transport, and as Didcot is supported by its own train station (which is only a short distance away from the Civic Hall) we readily agreed.

Good food and refreshments will be offered on the day, and we are delighted to have the support of the same catering crew that works so well for us at Cirencester – not to mention the excellent value pricing!

Ronnie and Tim have recently been asked to view several whole collections from private individuals that have either inherited an existing collection, or just contemplating a change of direction in what they collect. Whilst we always encourage people to “try their hand at selling”, since it can often result in a very profitable day for any seller, we are also pleased to offer ourselves as consultants. There are different options, including going to auction, or approaching specialist dealers direct, and these may sometimes achieve a truer value for significant collections. We are happy to help with recommendations of disposal or re-sale.

I’m sure there will be several things that I have forgotten to include in this brief update, so please feel free too contact us on our usual numbers, and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 25th July.
